Clinical massage therapy is a highly specialized health care modality that focuses on both the evaluation and the treatment of soft tissue dysfunction through manual manipulation. The purpose of clinical massage therapy is to develop, maintain, rehabilitate, or augment the physical function of the massage patient.
The benefits of clinical massage therapy include:
Promotion of the healing process
Increase in metabolism
Improvement in circulation
Enhancement in joint and muscle function
I have been trained in the following techniques: Trigger point therapy, Myofascial release, Neuromuscular techniques, Swedish massage techniques, and Hydrotherapy.
In addition, I use therapeutic grade essential oils and Raindrop Technique to promote balance and healing.

Raindrop technique combines the science of aromatherapy with the techniques of Vitaflex reflexology and massage. Therapeutic grade essential oils are dropped along the length of the spine and are applied to the feet with the Vitaflex technique. Light strokes with the fingers along the spine stimulate energy impulses and the nervous system throughout the body.
Raindrop Technique facilitates the body and energy centers being brought into balance, cleared and aligned without using force or excessive pressure. Combining the electrical frequency of the body with the frequency of the oils allows the body to bring itself into balance and promote healing.
This procedure is a tremendous boost to the immune system as it may release toxins, kill viruses and bacteria and reduce inflamation. A session lasts from 45 minutes to 1 hour, however the results may be felt for up to a week.
Oils used during Raindrop Technique:
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)
• An antiseptic, it contains thymol, which may be helpful in overcoming fatique and exhaustion after illness.
Oregano (Orgianum vulgare)
• A powerful antimicrobial essential oil. It has been shown to be extremely deadly to streptococcus pneumoniae.
Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens)
• Has been used to relieve pain from sore muscles, arthritis and inflammation
Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens)
• Useful for the circulatory system, asthma, colds and coughs
Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
• Highly regarded for soothing digestion, headaches, and nerves.
Basil (Ocimum basilicum)
• Historically used for respiratory, digestive and kidney ailments. An anit-inflammatory, it is useful for muscles and bones.
Marjoram (Origanum majorana)
• Soothing to the muscles and the respiratory system. It is antimicrobial and antiseptic.
Valor (A blend of Spruce, Rosewood, Blue Tansey and Frankincense)
• This blend helps balance electrical energies within the body, giving courage, confidence and self-esteem. It allows the higher frequency oils to raise the frequency of the body, thus promoting physical and emotional well-being.
Aroma Siez (A blend of Basil, Marjoram, Lavender, Peppermint and Cypress)
• May be effective for various issues related to the respiratory system, muscles and bones. May relax, calm and relieve tight, sore, tired and aching muscles.
Why do we have pain? Pain is the body’s signal that some part of our being is out of balance (does not have homeostasis). The Bowen Technique is a means to restore balance for the different levels of our being. Bowen Technique is a process that enables the body to regulate itself and through this process many symptoms will disappear.
Bowen Technique is an extremely powerful technique which was first developed by Tom Bowen as a means to integrate the structure, muscle and viscera via stimulation of the various nervous systems in the body. This stimulation removes pain and dysfunctional physiological conditions by restoring the structural integrity of the body. This technique allows the body to reintegrate on many levels thus being able to obtain and maintain homeostasis. Once homeostasis is achieved, the reason for pain is dissolved.
Bowen Technique is made up of a series of gentle, specific moves carried out in a predetermined and systematic manner. The body responds to these moves by becoming extremely relaxed. This relaxation allows the brain to register the condition of the structure and to reset the different aspects of the body that are out of alignment. This also allows energy flows to be re-established which then gives strength and vitality to the structure of the body. Structure governs function! If your structure is out of balance then you will have less than optimal functionality in all systems of the body.
Conditions that respond to Bowen Technique include (but are not limited to) the following:
Arthritis and joint conditions
Pain from injuries
Conditions affecting the male and female reproductive systems
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Your session will involve light movements over specific muscles with rest periods in between each set of movements. Most people have the initial reaction that not much is really being done by the therapist. However, the moves along with the rests allow the body to reset itself. Once the body is reset the reason for the symptoms disappears.
Health Kinesiology™ (HK) is a system of using a muscle response to access the body’s conscious and unconscious knowledge of what it needs to be well. When a stimulus (stressor) is introduced to the body the brain produces a chemical reaction which will either strengthen or weaken the muscles.
The HK system was developed by Jimmy Scott, PhD www.subtlenergy.com to use the information that was accessed by the muscle testing to detect where energy blockages were located within the body, what stressor was causing the energy blockages, and what was needed to de-stress the stressor. Dr. Scott discovered that when the stressors were de-stressed, the energy flowed through the body freely and allowed the body to heal itself.
HK practitioners work to help the client’s physical body, as well as the emotional and psychological attributes to be in balance. Research has shown that energy pathways (meridians) as well as the nervous system link all the systems and tissues of the body. When the energy pathways are blocked or imbalanced many diverse symptoms can occur. HK practitioners look for energy imbalances and make a determination about which of a range of procedures would be beneficial in restoring balance to the energy system/body. This is all done through muscle testing.
Why should I care if my energy is balanced?
If you experience any of the following or similar symptoms of energy imbalance, your body is trying to tell you that it is out of balance.
Allergies, Acne, Arthritis, Anxiety/Panic Attacks, Back Pain, Brain “fogginess”
Emotional trauma, High blood pressure, Immune system ailments,
Learning/behavioral difficulties, PMS, Lethargy, TMJ and teeth grinding, Pain, Vertigo
Every living thing is always striving to maintain an equilibrium (homeostasis). For humans, if our energy flow is not balanced then the body will try to re-balance. However, over time the body’s ability to re-balance itself decreases due to poor nutrition, pollution in our air and water, and negative life experiences and thought patterns. Until the energy balance is restored to the body, it cannot heal itself and relieve the symptoms.
What can I expect from a Health Kinesiology™ session?
At a HK session a symptom history is taken. This will often give clues as to where energy imbalances are located within the energy system. Using muscle testing, the HK practitioner will determine how to proceed according to the body’s own priority. Once it has been determined in which direction the body wishes to go, a procedure is chosen from the HK system that will best open the energy pathway and allow the body to heal itself. These energy “corrections” are permanent unless the body is interfered with by strong electromagnetic fields or geopathic stress.
A session can last from 45 minutes to two hours depending on each individual’s energy system. Most people have a noticeable improvement in their symptoms after the first session, however sometimes it takes a couple of sessions before improvement is noticed.
